Adoption Info & Fees

Process

 

After we receive the Puppy Interest Form and you would like to move forward in purchasing one of our Doodles, an application contract will be emailed to you for your review and signature. When your contract is returned, a NON-REFUNDABLE $250.00 reservation fee is due and payable to join our list. Once puppies are born the remaining $250 reservation fee is due. If puppies have already been born the entire $500 fee is due to secure a pick spot.  You will then be placed on our wait list, in the order reservation fees were received. We do not guarantee timing of when puppies will be available. We do, however, keep in contact with our wait list on breedings and expected litters. We understand that sometimes it may not be the best time to have a new puppy join your family. If that is the case, you may defer your placement on the wait list 2 more times, before forfeiting your deposit.

Once puppies arrive, a birth announcement will be sent out via email, notifying potential families of color and gender. At five weeks of age, puppy selection will be offered to families in the order reservation fees were paid. For local families puppy selection can be done in person.  For distant families puppy selection can be done via zoom, facetime, videos or pictures.  We make every effort to involve families in the growth process of the puppies by sending out/posting weekly updates.  A signed health guarantee/contract will be signed by both the buyer and breeder at the time final payment is made. We sell puppies on a spay/neuter agreement.  All puppies must be spayed or neutered by 18 months of age.  Sterilization options include traditional spay/neuter, ovary sparing spay and vasectomy. Final payment for local pick-up we prefer cash but also accept Zelle or wire transfer.  For puppies that will be delivered via a flight nanny final payment due when puppy is 7 weeks of age.  We accept wire transfers or Zelle for delivered puppies.  The reason for advance payment on puppies being delivered is to ensure adequate time for funds to transfer.  We want to ensure your puppy is ready to fly the day you have scheduled. Reservation fee is applied toward the total puppy purchase price.

Puppy Pick Up

We look forward to meeting you! The date and time for litter pick up is set just after birth announcements go out. You will have plenty of time to schedule your travel arrangements or to make arrangements with a flight nanny. We do NOT ship cargo or ground transport. We have trusted puppy transporters who can hand deliver your puppy, if that is an option you'd like to explore. Customers are responsible for puppies flight, flight nanny travel cost and arrangements.  We are here to offer suggestions of flight nannies we trust. Note - Flight Nanny's get busy and book up, so schedule early.                                       Flight Nanny's are contracted independently of Oak Knoll Doodles.
