Our sweet puppies are officially 2 weeks old, and we're hitting some exciting milestones! Their eyes and ears are now fully open, which means they can finally see the world, even if it's still a little blurry. It's such a heartwarming stage, knowing they're beginning to truly take in their surroundings.

We did their first deworming today with Pyrantel Pamoate. This is a very gentle and safe dewormer for young puppies and is part of our regular health protocol. We also sent a stool sample to the Vet, and I'm happy to report that both Shiloh and Zoe are parasite-free...great news for everyone! Mamas are also receiving a probiotic for gut health with their breakfast.

The mamas are starting to relax a bit more now. They're no longer hovering over the puppies constantly and are spending time outside the whelping box, only hopping in when it's time to feed. It's a natural shift as the puppies get a little older and stronger. Funny situation...I glanced at Shiloh feeding her babies. Her rump was actually sitting on the pig rails in the whelping box as she was sitting up feeding her babies. I've never seen a mama get quite this creative before. I literally laughed out loud!!!

Speaking of growing - Theis little ones are already starting to snuggle up under the pig rails and are even trying to climb up on them. Every litter seems to hit this curious phase right around this age and it's always so fun to watch. I tried to capture it in a video. I'll post on IG so you can see what I'm referring to. They are also beginning to play with each other in the sweetest ways. They lay on their sides and gently mouth one another. Also, while they are nursing, I take the time to gently pet each puppy around the head and neck. This helps them associate human touch with calmness and security, even while eating.

It's amazing how much change can happen in just one week. We are so proud of how well they're all doing ad can't wait to share more next week.

Our sweet babies are already a week old, and it's amazing how much they've grown and changed in such a short time! They've begun scooting around their whelping box and are starting to tuck themselves under the pig rails for cozy naps-already showing signs of independence.

Their one-week photos are now posted, and I'll also be including their 1 week weights at the end of this post, so you can keep up with their growth. It's truly remarkable to see the little changes each day! Even though their eyes and ears are still closed, we've started setting the tone for their daily routine by playing gentle cartoons in the background. It's part of creating a calm, consistent environment that will feel familiar as they grow.

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early scent Introduction (ESI) began on Day 3. So far, the puppies have been introduced to cucumber, peanut butter, lemon, celery, banana, and basil. It's been fascinating to see some of them respond by moving toward the scent or even licking their lips-tiny but meaningful signs that their brains are beginning to process outside stimuli and respond. These early exercises are designed to support their development into confident, well-adjusted, and intelligent companions. Along with this training, we weigh the puppies every day until they are 14 days old. Weight loss or not gaining, is a way to detect an issue and act on it as soon as possible. This alone has saved puppies in the past!

A fun moment from today, (Day 8): while I was feeding Zoe, little Saffron scooted over and stuck his head in her food bowl to sniff her food. It's amazing how aware and curious they already are!

I'm also still sleeping in the same room as the puppies and will continue to do so until they are at least 3 weeks old. This allows me to hear if a mama accidentally rolls onto a pup or if someone needs to go outside during the night. It's my way of keeping everyone safe and cared for around the clock. I also leave the house very little during the first 2 weeks...letting friends and family know I'm officially on Puppy Patrol.

I hope these updates, along with the photos and reels on Instagram, help you feel like you're right here with us, watching your puppy grow day by day!

Shiloh x Gunnar's puppies were born Friday May 23, 2025 and 27 hours later, Zoe x Murphy's puppies started arriving. Since the litters are so close in age, I am going to combine the timelines for their ENS & ESI Training, feeding, potty training, vaccines, etc. Check back periodically for information regarding your puppies. This is an efficient way for me to communicate effectively. You are still always welcome to contact me for questions. If I don't have the answer, I will find it for you.
